For sixteen years we have been humbled by the kindness and generosity of individuals and businesses alike, who understand the importance of supporting the “The John L. McGuirk Memorial Golf Tournament”. Over $120,000 has been raised to benefit medical research and treatment of high-risk pregnancies at Massachusetts General Hospital Vincent Service and the North Shore Cancer Center’s Wellness Fund, which helps to counsel and support children of families who are coping with the ravages of cancer.

Each year is more difficult than the past year(s) to garner support. With the tough economic times, everyone’s dollar is stretched. However, please remember that there are no economic boundaries for Cancer or High-Risk Pregnancies. They can strike anyone at any time, without warning.

We know first hand, we lost someone very special to all of us 8 years, Coach John L. McGuirk. He was a husband, father, coach and friend to everyone. And a family member lost two babies at birth 15 years ago.

Both are insidious diseases that taxes families in countless ways; physically, financially, emotionally. There is no more hopeless feeling than watching someone that you love struggle with this singularly devastating illness. This is why once a year we gather in solidarity to help others, while spending an enjoyable afternoon on the links.

So you may ask, “What can I do?” There are many ways to contribute to this endeavor. We offer Sponsorship Packages ranging from $75.00 to purchase an ad in our program book to $3500.00 to sponsoring the dinner. With your sponsorship, you company’s name will be displayed throughout our tournament. If you are not a golfer, or are unable to join us, but would still like to partake in this worthy cause, we gratefully accept with pleasure any and all donations.

This is a guest post by Kevin Scanlon. A Tournament planner with 21 years of experience.

1. Must include a silent and live auction after golf…this can add between $20,000 and $150,000 to an event’s bottom line. Golf attracts an upscale audience and they are a captive audience after golf. Preferably all auction items are donated…no consignment.

2. Need to recruit golf and auction committee members from the corporate community to expand networking to attract corporate sponsors (vs. Individual golfers) and auction items.

3. Try to secure a lead sponsor for the event (Title or Presenting Sponsor. If you are fortunate enough to secure a lead sponsor get them on your committee and that can help expand your network for additional sponsors.

4. Add an Honoree at the event who has supported the charity in the past. Goal here is to tap into that person’s network

Our inaugural tournament will be hosted by former NFL stars, KEN EASLEY, MACK STRONG, famed SF 49’er and Seahawk CHARLIE YOUNG and the legendary MEADOWLARK LEMON from the Harlem Globetrotters as well as over 20 other professional athletes.

The tournament fundraiser is in support of Greater Trinity Academy, an Early Childhood Learning Academy which has been serving the Everett community for the past 11 years. GTA is committed to providing a high quality, innovative, academic experience to children; stimulating a child’s enthusiasm for learning throughout their educational career and beyond. The majority of GTA’s kids are from underprivileged backgrounds who may not otherwise have the opportunity for such a dedicated educational pre-K experience. This opportunity often sets them well ahead of their peers when they are set to enter the public school system.

Not only is the positive and impactful results showing both on an individual level but also in the awareness of our program on both the state and national level. As exciting as that is, we still need to find creative ways to keep up the high standard of instruction and service to our children. So we are really excited to be hosting our first Celebrity Golf Tournament at Redmond Ridge on Sept. 20. to raise money for our school.

We hope that you can join us for this event. Register for a foursome, inquire about our many sponsorship opportunities or be a volunteer. For more information, please don’t hesitate to reach me.

The Els for Autism Golf Challenge is the largest amateur, charity-driven, national tournament in U.S history. It comprises of 30 Super Regional events around the country from May through September with a Grand Finale in Las Vegas on October 23/24. One of those Super Regional events is being hosted at TPC Prestancia on September 26, 2011.The TPC Prestancia event costs $500 to enter per two-person team ($250pp). This includes the golf, cart, lunch and tournament gifts. Participants will be competing for the chance to qualify for the Grand Finale which will be hosted by Ernie Els in Las Vegas on 23/24 October. Grand Finale prizes include luxury trips to South Africa, South America and England courtesy of Mantis and sets of Callaway golf clubs complete with bag and customized fitting.
There are three ways for a team competing in a Super Regional event to make it the final – be the low net winner, the highest fundraiser or raise $10,000 more and automatically qualify. Once teams sign up they are given a dedicated team webpage to personalize and send out to friends, co-workers etc…to ask them to sponsor their team. Essentially teams start competing the minute they sign up! Whilst fundraising is encouraged it is not a prerequisite of taking part. As a fun incentive, teams raising $2,500 or more will be automatically entered into the Fundraisers’ Prize Draw for a chance to win a 7-day ultimate IRISH LINKS golf tour to Ireland.

Proceeds from the Golf Challenge will go towards creating the Els Center of Excellence that will reach out to help children on the autism spectrum across the U.S and internationally.

The Els for Autism Golf Challenge is the largest amateur, charity-driven, national tournament in U.S history. It comprises of 30 Super Regional events around the country from May through September with a Grand Finale in Las Vegas on October 23/24. One of those Super Regional events is being hosted at TPC Prestancia on September 26, 2011.

The TPC Prestancia event costs $500 to enter per two-person team ($250pp).

Welcome to the JDRF Rockin’ Peeps Annual Tee off “fore” a cure, for which we are seeking your support.

The JDRF Rockin’ Peeps, a non-profit family organization, was formed last year when several families came together to promote awareness and help raise funding for a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Last years Inaugural Golf Tournament was such a success that with help of many sponsors, donations and volunteers the Rockin’ Peeps were able to raise over $8,000 for the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

This is a great opportunity for your company to receive exposure and help support a worthy cause. Enclosed please find details of the sponsorship levels and participation opportunities for the Tee off “fore” a Cure, which will be held at Canongate’s White Oak Golf Course in Newnan, GA on October 8, 2010. Your involvement will make this year’s event an extra special celebration.

We appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you soon. Please mail your commitment form back promptly or contact us online at www.jdrfrockinpeeps.com. Should you have any questions, feel free to call our team representatives

On Friday, June 8, 2012, we will be hosting our 5th Annual Golf “Fore” Recovery at the Arroyo Course in Red Rock Country Club in Las Vegas.

All funds raised will stay in Southern Nevada, benefiting our efforts in support of the Foundation’s mission.

The disease of addiction affects more than twenty-three million Americans every year, with less than 10% receiving the help they need. Our programs, services, and trainings offer valuable prevention education for parents, open pathways for recovery, and promote recovery’s positive impact.

Tournament tickets include your round of golf, golf cart, range balls and special awards luncheon at the gorgeous Red Rock Country Club.

This is a fantastic opportunity to have an awesome day on the greens while making a difference in our community!
