“Boston Terrier Tee Off” Golf Tournament to Benefit Boston Terrier Rescue Organization Wanted: Golfers who want to make a difference! Why not have fun playing golf, take a day off work, and help out America’s first dog breed, the Boston Terrier? Friday, October 7, 2011, The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee will host their first annual tournament at Collins Hill Golf Club in Lawrenceville, GA, referred to as “one of Georgia’s best kept golf secrets.” The tournament is open to golfers at all skill levels and is scramble format. Several adorable and adoptable Bostons will be on hand with free licks of thanks for the golfers’ support. The fun begins at 12 noon with lunch, which is included in the $80 entry fee, and a silent auction featuring donated items from local businesses. Donations of cash or items for auction are still needed and greatly appreciated. “This is the first benefit golf tournament for our organization,” said event coordinator Renee Ussery, “and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Collins Hill Golf Club for a fun event, while raising funds for dogs in need.” The economy has definitely had a negative affect on a number of animals in this country. There are increasing numbers of homeless, abandoned, and euthanized animals as a result of job loss and home foreclosures. Volunteers with BTRET work with shelters and organizations around the southeast to locate and rescue dogs who are then placed in foster homes. While living with compassionate volunteers, the dogs are cleared of medical issues and prepared for adoption. The Boston Terrier is recognized as the first American breed by the AKC in 1893. Protecting these dogs is the primary mission of BTRET, the largest Boston Terrier rescue organization in the southeast. A 501(c)(3) organization based in Maryville, TN, Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee has a strong presence in the Atlanta metro area with many adoptable dogs fostered in the region. | HOLDEN, MA – Bay State Equine Rescue will be dedicating proceeds from their June 24th Annual Golf Tournament at Holden Hills Country Club to JoAnn Kass and Steven Bush to help with the medical costs to save their horse, Cajun, who was severely injured in the tornadoes that tore apart Brimfield.
Kass and Bush have already lost their home, barn, and one of their horses to the devastating storms, but they are determined to not lose Cajun. “They made the decision, after having lost everything,” says Karen Walker, Kass’s sister, “that if there was any chance to save [Cajun], they would.” Cajun had an 8-inch piece of wood embedded in his rear leg that had to be removed on site with minimal medical equipment. After Boston Animal Rescue League transported him to Tufts, further chunks of wood and debris were discovered and have required multiple surgeries to safely remove. Moved by the horse’s story and his family’s dedication, Bay State Equine Rescue decided to allocate 50% of the golf proceeds and present specialty auction items towards Cajun’s medical costs. How can you help? 1. Play golf. Details on our website www.baystaterescue.org or contact Robin sachsrobin@gmail.com 2. become a sponsor. Details on our website www.baystaterescue.org or contact Robin sachsrobin@gmail.com 3. bid on auction items – including a Bulova watch from Sachs Jewelers – donated especially for Cajun. Show up at Holden Hills Country Club, Holden, MA on June 24th around 1PM to bid on prizes. The Golf Tournament will be held on June 24th at Holden Hills Country Club. Registration starts at 7:30 and there will be an 8:30AM shotgun start. A meal of ribs, chicken, pasta, and more is included in registration fees. The silent auction and raffle will be held during the meal. To Register: Online: PayPal: www.BayStateRescue.org By check: Mail to: Robin Sachs, 520 Scott Road, Oakham, MA 01068 $100 per person/$400 per foursome; includes 18 holes of golf with cart and the meal. The Bay State Equine Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)3 organization of Massachusetts and is dedicated to helping horses through direct intervention, education, and community outreach. Donations made to the rescue are tax deductible to the extent of the law. To learn more about Cajun, visit his Face Book page!! |

| For sixteen years we have been humbled by the kindness and generosity of individuals and businesses alike, who understand the importance of supporting the “The John L. McGuirk Memorial Golf Tournament”. Over $120,000 has been raised to benefit medical research and treatment of high-risk pregnancies at Massachusetts General Hospital Vincent Service and the North Shore Cancer Center’s Wellness Fund, which helps to counsel and support children of families who are coping with the ravages of cancer.
Each year is more difficult than the past year(s) to garner support. With the tough economic times, everyone’s dollar is stretched. However, please remember that there are no economic boundaries for Cancer or High-Risk Pregnancies. They can strike anyone at any time, without warning. We know first hand, we lost someone very special to all of us 8 years, Coach John L. McGuirk. He was a husband, father, coach and friend to everyone. And a family member lost two babies at birth 15 years ago. Both are insidious diseases that taxes families in countless ways; physically, financially, emotionally. There is no more hopeless feeling than watching someone that you love struggle with this singularly devastating illness. This is why once a year we gather in solidarity to help others, while spending an enjoyable afternoon on the links. So you may ask, “What can I do?” There are many ways to contribute to this endeavor. We offer Sponsorship Packages ranging from $75.00 to purchase an ad in our program book to $3500.00 to sponsoring the dinner. With your sponsorship, you company’s name will be displayed throughout our tournament. If you are not a golfer, or are unable to join us, but would still like to partake in this worthy cause, we gratefully accept with pleasure any and all donations. |

Proceeds from the event will assist those who need help to move past their in juries and lead fruitful & productive lives. About the Golf Tournament: The 4th Annual “Codger Cup” Charity Golf Tournament is Legacy Financial Advisor’s major fundraiser each year. Sponsors are needed as well as golfers. Sponsorships range from $100 to $3,000. The tournament will be held on August 30, 2010 at Wedgwood Pines Country Club in Stow Massachusetts. Registration is at 10:30 am and shotgun start is at 12:00 noon. It will be a ‘best ball’ or ‘scramble’ and the fee to play is $400 per foursome or $100 per individual golfer. Fees include a complimentary grab bag lunch on the day of the event, cart, green fees, as well as numerous awards and prizes. Remember, all proceeds go to a wonderful cause! You can register online at: http://www.lfsadvisors.com/new/legacyfinancialadvisors/default.asp About the Spinal Cord Injury Association: A spinal cord injury (SCI) is an unexpected life-changing event for an individual and their loved ones. The newly-injured and those around them must learn to cope with this dramatic change and gradually adjust to post-injury life. The Greater Boston Chapter (GBC) of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association works to reach, inspire, support and empower those affected by spinal cord injury. From the moment of injury, they offer critical support, one-on-one comprehensive services and access to resources that no other entity provides. The GBC provides critical services in conjunction with its Peer Visitation Program, designed to help people live long, healthy, productive and independent lives. A spinal cord injury not only means a loss of one’s ability to ambulate, it brings on a host of very specific health concerns that may include skin breakdown, chronic pain and Autonomic Dysreflexia to name just a few. Individuals with SCI are required to become medical experts on their own behalf. They need to understand a myriad of health warning signs and are often called upon to educate health care providers about their own health needs because medical school textbooks are not well versed on SCI issues. The GBC educates the newly injured and teaches them how to monitor their health and advocate on their own behalf to ensure that they receive the best healthcare possible. The GBC works hard to make sure that no newly injured individual is left to figure it out on their own. To learn more about the EIP program please contact their office at 781.933.8666. Additional Information about the Golf Tournament: If you have questions about the tournament or sponsorships, please contact Jon Green, at 508-482-9336 or 617-510-5219. ### Contacts: Cathy Tharp – Legacy Financial Advisors Events Coordinator 508-482-9336 |

Dear friend,
It’s the kids; we do it for the kids. Why do we need your help? Your contribution will help the Child Life Department continue to provide services to the patients and their families. These services include developmentally appropriate toys/games, electronics (such as video games and DVD players), back to school visits for children re-entering school, bereavement groups, support for siblings, and so much more. The Child Life Department makes Children’s a home away from home and ensures that children can celebrate their birthday, Trick or Treat on Halloween and see Santa on Christmas, even if they are here in the hospital. How can you help? You can support the Child Life Department by being a sponsor, a golfer, or by donating items to our auction. For specific giving opportunities, please refer to the enclosed list of sponsorship and auction possibilities. This can be a wonderful opportunity for your company to gain visibility while touching the lives of children and families. For more information, visit our website by clicking here. We have all been touched by a miracle in one way or another through Children’s Hospital Boston. It is people like you who make it possible for the children to receive this outstanding care. Please help us ensure that the Child Life Department at Children’s Hospital Boston continues to meet the needs of patients and families. One of our tournament committee members will follow up with you to answer any questions you may have. For additional information please email TeeUp4Kids@yahoo.com or call (617) 596-5296 or (617) 869-4806. | Since 1974, the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center has cared for over 18,000 of the regions smallest and sickest newborns in a family-oriented environment. Located on our Memorial Campus and part of our comprehensive Children’s Medical Center, our NICU is nationally recognized for its quality care. UMass Memorial has the only Level III NICU in Central Massachusetts, as well as the only high-risk obstetrical service. A national success story today, the NICU admits over 550 low birth weight and high risk infants who receive care in a 43-bed NICU; a showcase of family centered care and design. This year, a couple from California, touched by stories of the exemplary care given to newborns and their families at UMass Memorial Medical Center, has made an anonymous donation of $1 million towards an important redesign of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, a gift that will further the lifesaving care provided t o patients from throughout Central New England. This gift represents half of the cost of the capital improvements in the NICU. Although the overall square footage of the NICU will not expand, the redesign of the unit will include new rooms, some of which will be private for the most acutely ill infants. The NICU redesign will further reduce the external stimuli that can be stressors for newborns and will enhance our family centered environment allowing parents to stay in the hospital around the clock with their infants. We are inviting you to join us in this exciting project, as the NICU celebrates its 36th anniversary, by becoming a sponsor or golfer for the 18th annual Tee Up for Tots Golf Tournament. The Tournament will take place on Monday, August 09, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant Country Club in Boylston, MA and includes 18 holes of golf, a live auction and dinner.

| For fifteen years we have been humbled by the kindness and generosity of individuals and businesses alike, who understand the importance of supporting the “The John L. McGuirk Memorial Golf Tournament”. Over $100,000 has been raised to benefit medical research and treatment of high-risk pregnancies at Massachusetts General Hospital Vincent Service and the North Shore Cancer Center’s Wellness Fund, which helps to counsel and support children of families who are coping with the ravages of cancer.
With the tough economic times, everyone’s dollar is stretched. However, please remember that there are no economic boundaries for cancer or high-risk pregnancies. They can strike anyone at any time, without warning. Cancer is an insidious disease that taxes families in countless ways; physically, financially, emotionally. There is no more hopeless feeling than watching someone that you love struggle with this singularly devastating illness. This is why once a year we gather in solidarity to help others, while spending an enjoyable afternoon on the links. |

Women golfers and their friends are invited to participate in a one-of-a-kind event The Home for Little Wanderers’ annual Home in One Women’s Golf Tournament to benefit at-risk children and families. The Tournament will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at The International one of the nation’s premier golf destinations 159 Ballville Road, Bolton, MA.
“Home in One is unique, one-of-a-kind golf fundraiser because it provides guests with an opportunity to choose between playing 18 holes, taking a ‘getting started’ golf lesson or being pampered at the spa,” said Clemmie Cash, a Board Member of The Home and Chair of the golf tournament committee. “The event encourages women to invite their friends and co-workers for a day out of the office, or without the kids, to support a good cause. Participants will have fun while raising money to support programs and services that are even more critical for children at risk and their families in these difficult times.” The Home for Little Wanderers is the nation’s oldest and one of New England’s largest, private, non-profit child and family service agencies, serving more than 10,000 children at risk and their families from throughout the state each year.
