STEP2’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 18th, 2010 at the Resort at Red Hawk starting at 1pm. Come out and enjoy a great day of golf while supporting STEP2. STEP2 is a comprehensive substance abuse treatment center for women and children. STEP2 boasts a greater than 60% success rate thanks to our unique treatment model of serving families for up to 1 1/2 years.

Now is your chance to rub shoulders with more than 40 of sports and entertainment greatest legends during the Legends of the Game Celebrity Tour in Reno, Nev., Thursday, June 3 through Sunday, June 6, 2010. The tour includes three days of gaming, golf, poker, fundraising, and several exciting parties.

On June 3 enjoy a private event open only to our VIP Guests, Sponsors and Celebrities. Enjoy an intimate evening of food, drink and conversation. The star-studded Legends pairing party begins Friday, June 4, 2010, where the golf teams will receive their weekend tee times. Some of the sports legends attending include Gale Sayers, Vida Blue, Ken Houston, Ken Griffy Sr., Jim Plunkett, Ed “Too Tall” Jones, Calvin Murphy, Dave Wilcox, Mark Rypien, Lem Barney, Leroy Kelly, Meadowlark Lemon, Mel Renfro, Al Joiner, and many more!

Two days of golf will take place at the beautiful LakeRidge Golf Course in Reno on Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6. Golfers who participate will be paired with a celebrity and invited to the star-studded pairings party on Friday, June 4 at the EDGE Nightclub, at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. Space for the golf tournament is limited, so reserve your spot early by calling (916) 871-5911. Limited parking will be available at LakeRidge Golf Course. The course is only open to participating golfers, sponsors and invited guests. Course is otherwise closed to the general public.

On Saturday, June 5, try to bluff some of the greatest sports and poker legends during the Legends of the Game Celebrity Poker Tournament at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. A celebrity will be seated at each poker table at the start of the tournament. Poker players who knock out a sports legend will go home with an autographed shirt right off the legend’s back. Proceeds from the weekend’s events will be donated to Reno Philanthropist Evelyn Mount’s Community Outreach Program. Evelyn Mount has been feeding the area’s hungry from her home for more than 40 years. Other charities receiving donations include the Northern Nevada Food Bank, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Northern Nevada. “This is an exciting event that brings together some of the greatest legendary players in football, baseball, basketball, and boxing, as well as stars from the screen, to help those in need,” said Scott Hampton, CEO of Legends of the Game Celebrity Tour.
