For over 30 years, CURE Childhood Cancer Association has been providing emotional, educational, financial and social support for the area’s children and families who are fighting cancer. In recent years, due to improved rates of patient survival, CURE has been providing continued support for long-term survivors. The 10th annual CURE Kids Cancer Classic – on Friday, August 3rd, 2012 at Ravenwood Golf Club – will help enable CURE to continue its work for children and their families who face the medical challenge of a lifetime. “CURE Kids Cancer Classic represents a major step for CURE in its efforts to provide children and their families with support and advocacy as they fight this very difficult disease,” says Gary Siwicki, a member of CURE’s board of directors and chair of the golf tournament. “Thanks to our sponsors and supporters, and to the staff of Ravenwood Golf Club, we’ve put together a first-class event that will raise much-needed funds for CURE.” |

| PartnershipsInAction is an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation USA (AKF), an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), whose overarching goal is to end global poverty by building resilient, self sustaining communities in some of the poorest regions of the world.
The focus of PartnershipsInAction is to create awareness, build partnerships and raise funds to support AKF’s innovative programs. AKF USA, established in 1981, is a private, nondenominational, nonprofit international development organization committed to alleviating poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy, primarily in the developing world. The Foundation works to address the root causes of poverty by developing model programs and sharing innovative solutions in the areas of health, education, rural development, civil society and the environment. Presently engaged in over 100 major projects and programs in 18 countries, the Foundation’s programs are designed to lend a helping hand and not a hand-out, endorsed by the conviction that self-help brings dignity, self-respect and the realization of human potential. For more information, please visit partnershipsinaction.org. As we prepare for our 2nd Annual PartnershipsInAction Charity Golf Tournament and Awards Dinner, to be held at the Manhattan Woods Golf Club, a private club located in West Nyack New York, on July 18th, we are seeking corporate sponsors to support us. We are confident that this will be a worthwhile opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. We hope that you, too, will be just as inspired as others and consider joining us to be part of the solution to ending global poverty. Past Corporate Sponsors: Johnson & Johnson, Toyota, Ernst & Young, Pfizer, The Seaport Group, Dahlman Rose & Co., Emirates, Continental Airlines, Vedder Price, Snapple, Ritz Carlton, Tom Tom, Motorola, Sage Popovich Inc PartnershipsInAction Walks and Golf Tournaments, which are held in major cities across the USA, give Americans an opportunity to actively take part in advancing human dignity and peace around the globe and have raised over $42 million since 1995. AKF USA is registered as a publicly supported charitable organization under IRS code 501(c)(3) and 100% of the donations from the Walk and all net proceeds from the Golf Tournaments go directly to help fund AKF programs that create hope and opportunity in poverty stricken communities. Our Tax ID is # 52-1231983. In addition, funds contributed to Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. are multiplied up to 6 times because of the Foundation’s ability to obtain matching grants from other agencies, such as the U.S. Agency for International Development. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email at nypartnershipgolf@partnershipsinaction.org . We look forward to your generous support and contribution. | Group for the East End is honored to hold its first golf fundraising event at Sebonack Golf Club on October 19, 2010. Situated on 300 picturesque acres on Peconic Bay in Southampton, Sebonack is one of just a few world class golf courses built and maintained with environmentally sustainable practices. Sebonack appears to have fashioned itself from the wild terrain. In fact, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak designed the course to look as though it were manicured by time.
Join us for an exceptional day. We will begin with breakfast at 8:30 a.m., shotgun start at 9:30 a.m., 18 holes of golf, barbecue lunch, and awards on the club house veranda. Our tournament is limited to 72 players, so please reserve your tickets today. For more information on Sebonack Golf Club, please visit www.sebonack.com. Since 1972, Group for the East End has protected and restored the environment of eastern Long Island through education, citizen action and professional advocacy. Acting as an environmental watchdog for the region, the Group inspires people to embrace a conservation ethic. To learn more about Group for the East End, please visit www.eastendenvironment.org. |
