The tournament fundraiser is in support of Greater Trinity Academy, an Early Childhood Learning Academy which has been serving the Everett community for the past 11 years. GTA is committed to providing a high quality, innovative, academic experience to children; stimulating a child’s enthusiasm for learning throughout their educational career and beyond. The majority of GTA’s kids are from underprivileged backgrounds who may not otherwise have the opportunity for such a dedicated educational pre-K experience. This opportunity often sets them well ahead of their peers when they are set to enter the public school system.

Not only is the positive and impactful results showing both on an individual level but also in the awareness of our program on both the state and national level. As exciting as that is, we still need to find creative ways to keep up the high standard of instruction and service to our children. So we are really excited to be hosting our first Celebrity Golf Tournament at Redmond Ridge on Sept. 20. to raise money for our school.

Your support of the 31st annual event will help fund the March of Dimes mission: to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality through research, awareness, community service and advocacy.

The 18th Annual Will Powered Golf Classic will be played at the Pechanga Resort and Casino. This is a team event where each foursome represents a different MLB team. You’ll compete in your respective division and you’ll vie for a wild card award, division title or the overall championship! You’ll be playing in a unique format that both skilled and not-so-skilled golfers can compete and enjoy equally. It’s called “1-2-3 yer out”. Everyone plays and scores on their own ball but not every score counts towards the TEAM score. Each team counts the ONE best net score on all par 5′s, the TWO best net scores on every par 4 and the THREE best net scores on every par 3. The outing is held at the exclusive Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove, Illinois. This private country club features two 18-hole courses, carved out of Long Grove’s beautiful wooded landscape, and was designed by local architect C.D. Wagstaff. In addition to the 18-hole course, Twin Orchards also provides four championship clay tennis courts. The tennis tournament is in conjunction with MidTown Athletic Club.

From the inception of SKNI outing, the event has been sold out. The success of this event allows us to continue to contribute funds to the charitable organizations that have come to rely on SKN to fund programs and research that helps children and young adults with special needs.

Currently in Nevada there are 305 projects that still need to be funded. To date, Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort has given resources to 12,460 students (roughly $4,000) through contributions on the site.

Loews Lake Las Vegas Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament raised over $21,000 for a non-profit dedicated to Modest Needs.

As the first hotel partner for DonorsChoose.org, the goal for Loews is to raise awareness of the charity by raising money within the communities in which we do business. Loews has partnered with Donors Choose in order to better serve the educational needs of Nevada students.

The event kicks off at 12pm with an 18-hole, 4-person scramble golf tournament, followed by an awards barbeque and silent auction. Entry into the tournament is $150 per golfer or $650 per foursome, and is limited to the first 144 entrants. Each entry includes green and cart fees, lunch, dinner and gifts provided by Titleist as well as vacation giveaways from other Loews Hotel properties. Major sponsors include Touchstone, ValleyCrest, and SteriTech. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available ranging from hole sponsors and auction donors to the title sponsor.

Founded in 2000, DonorsChoose.org is a nonprofit website where public school teachers describe specific educational projects for their students, and donors can choose the projects they want to support. After completing a project, the donor hears back from the classroom they supported in the form of photographs and student thank-you letters.

To date, 123,000 public and charter school teachers have used the site to secure funding for $49.5 million in books, art supplies, technology, and other resources that their students need to learn. Through www.DonorsChoose.org, individuals from all walks of life have helped 3.1 million students, the majority from low-income areas.

CNN’s Congressional Correspondent Briana Keilar will serve as the Emcee for the fourth consecutive year. Other event highlights include a live auction and raffle featuring items such as a pair of round trip airline tickets (continental US) provided by Air Tran.

There are so many devastating diseases in our world right now, and that saddens us. The difference with Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes is that wiping it out of existences is extremely attainable and yet reachable. I hope one day I will be able to tell him to put down the glucose machine, its no longer needed. We believe that by time he reaches High School with the help of others our hope will come to reality.

The Rockin’ Peeps are your average diabetes families. Formed from a community of children who have been living with diabetes. We know that insulin is not our cure and only life support, so on November 13, 2010, The Rockin’ Peeps are hosting a “Tee off “fore” a CURE” day at Canongate Summergrove Golf Course. All proceeds will benefit the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). You and others can help too with donations big and small. We are asking for sponsors, players, or just simple donations. The Some Kind Of Miracle benefit is an all-day event starting with a Golf Tournament held at Coto De Caza’s exclusive 18-hole golf course, followed by dinner and a silent and live auction.

This year’s Some Kind of Miracle theme, “Abounding Opportunity,” highlights Children of the Nations’ education programs, which strive to create young leaders to one day transform nations. The mission of St. Matthew’s House (SMH) is to change lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined, as well as providing housing for the homeless and food for the needy. A drive to the right, while risky, shortens the approach by 20 yards, and provides a welcoming angle onto the green.

About the Golf Tournament:

About the Spinal Cord Injury Association:

A spinal cord injury (SCI) is an unexpected life-changing event for an individual and their loved ones. The newly-injured and those around them must learn to cope with this dramatic change and gradually adjust to post-injury life. The Greater Boston Chapter (GBC) of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association works to reach, inspire, support and empower those affected by spinal cord injury. From the moment of injury, they offer critical support, one-on-one comprehensive services and access to resources that no other entity provides.

The GBC provides critical services in conjunction with its Peer Visitation Program, designed to help people live long, healthy, productive and independent lives. A spinal cord injury not only means a loss of one’s ability to ambulate, it brings on a host of very specific health concerns that may include skin breakdown, chronic pain and Autonomic Dysreflexia to name just a few. Individuals with SCI are required to become medical experts on their own behalf. They need to understand a myriad of health warning signs and are often called upon to educate health care providers about their own health needs because medical school textbooks are not well versed on SCI issues. The GBC educates the newly injured and teaches them how to monitor their health and advocate on their own behalf to ensure that they receive the best healthcare possible.

As the first hotel partner for DonorsChoose.org, the goal for Loews is to raise awareness of the charity by raising money within the communities in which we do business. Loews has partnered with Donors Choose in order to better serve the educational needs of Nevada students.

The event kicks off at 12pm with an 18-hole, 4-person scramble golf tournament, followed by an awards barbeque and silent auction. As the president of The Ascension Catholic Church Men’s Club, Kevin was an enthusiastic spirit who brought people together and had a positive and significant impact on their lives. This tournament, which Kevin initiated, helps us memorialize a man, a friend and a brother who was taken from us long before his time.

All proceeds from the golf scramble benefit the Kevin Calderbank Scholarships, which are awarded annually to outstanding high-school seniors attending a Florida public college or university.

Gilda’s Club is a national organization started in honor of the late Gilda Radner from Saturday Night Live, by her husband Gene Wilder, cancer therapist Joanne Bull and Joel Siegel. It was Gilda’s wish that anyone dealing with cancer would be able to receive the kind of support she found during her treatment. Today, there are over thirty Gilda’s Clubs and fifty thousand members nationwide that offer free supoort for men, women and children living with any kind of cancer, along with their families and friends.

That’s why on Monday, August 23, 2010, we will be hosting “Tee Up 4 Kids”, our first annual golf tournament to benefit the Child Life Department at Children’s Hospital Boston.
“Tee Up 4 Kids” will be held at the Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston, MA, and all proceeds will directly benefit the Child Life Department. There are 33 Child Life Specialists within the Child Life Department. These specialists work with inpatient and outpatient patients and their families to help them adjust to and understand their hospitalization and medical illness. Through the use of play, education and other developmentally appropriate interventions, child life specialists enhance the patients’ emotional, social and cognitive growth during their hospital stay.

Why do we need your help? Your contribution will help the Child Life Department continue to provide services to the patients and their families. These services include developmentally appropriate toys/games, electronics (such as video games and DVD players), back to school visits for children re-entering school, bereavement groups, support for siblings, and so much more. The Child Life Department makes Children’s a home away from home and ensures that children can celebrate their birthday, Trick or Treat on Halloween and see Santa on Christmas, even if they are here in the hospital.
