Once again, we are proud to present the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood Champions Charity Golf Tournament. The Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood has touched the lives of children ages 6 to 17 for more than 70 years. The mission of the Club is to inspire and enable young people to realize their full potential. Serving more than 1,600 children annually, the Club’s key programs emphasize education and career development; health and life skills; character and leadership development; the arts; and sports, fitness, and recreation.

It’s hard to believe that 11 years ago the Los Angeles & Southern California Claims Team from Farmers Insurance founded this tournament. We are grateful for the ongoing support from Farmers Insurance and are pleased to announce that Farmers Insurance will again be the event’s Title Sponsor.

We are returning to Robinson Ranch in Santa Clarita and will utilize both 18-hole golf courses. As always, each course will host a variety of contests and activities. After golf, participants will have the opportunity to win great chance drawing prizes and auction items at our dinner and awards banquet.

Of course, events like this can’t happen without your generosity. We hope you will be able to join us Friday, October 22nd and invite you to consider the different ways you might offer your support. Your company can participate at various giving levels, with attractive benefits at each. Enclosed is a sponsorship form that explains the sponsorship levels in more detail.

If you are able to respond by August 15th, we will be able to give you recognition in the invitation that will be sent out at the end of August.

We’re very excited to be holding the 1st Annual Pre-Med AMSA Charity Open at Orange County National, home of the 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2010 PGA Tour Q-School Finals! Orange County National is the #1 public course in Florida, and the #2 public course in the United States!

All proceeds will be donated to Guide Dogs for the Blind, a non-profit organisation headquartered in San Rafael, California. They receive no government assistance and rely solely on generous donations to operate. Each year, they provide many visually impaired individuals with the gift of sight through a highly-trained canine companion, giving those lucky people a whole new lease on life. We at Pre-Med AMSA at the University of Central Florida believe very much in what they do and are enthusiastic to spread the good word about, and raise money for, them!

Tee time is 1:30 p.m. and we ask that you arrive at least an hour before for registration. While registering, buy as many tickets as you care to in our 50-50 raffle! After registration, warm up on the world-renowned practice facility with your complimentary range balls. After the tournament, treat your self to grilled black angus beef hamburgers, grilled chicken, baby back ribs and all of the side dishes you can handle. Dinner is included in your ticket price!

During the tournament, there will be several mini-competitions, including longest drive and closest to pin. Prizes will be awarded to the top three groups, as well as to the winners of the mini-competitions. The winner of the 50-50 raffle will also be announced at this time.

Since 1974, the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center has cared for over 18,000 of the regions smallest and sickest newborns in a family-oriented environment. Located on our Memorial Campus and part of our comprehensive Children’s Medical Center, our NICU is nationally recognized for its quality care. UMass Memorial has the only Level III NICU in Central Massachusetts, as well as the only high-risk obstetrical service. A national success story today, the NICU admits over 550 low birth weight and high risk infants who receive care in a 43-bed NICU; a showcase of family centered care and design. This year, a couple from California, touched by stories of the exemplary care given to newborns and their families at UMass Memorial Medical Center, has made an anonymous donation of $1 million towards an important redesign of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, a gift that will further the lifesaving care provided t o patients from throughout Central New England. This gift represents half of the cost of the capital improvements in the NICU. Although the overall square footage of the NICU will not expand, the redesign of the unit will include new rooms, some of which will be private for the most acutely ill infants. The NICU redesign will further reduce the external stimuli that can be stressors for newborns and will enhance our family centered environment allowing parents to stay in the hospital around the clock with their infants. We are inviting you to join us in this exciting project, as the NICU celebrates its 36th anniversary, by becoming a sponsor or golfer for the 18th annual Tee Up for Tots Golf Tournament. The Tournament will take place on Monday, August 09, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant Country Club in Boylston, MA and includes 18 holes of golf, a live auction and dinner.
