This is our 2nd annual Charity Golf Tournament. We are raising money to find a cure for Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA). Gavin Stevens, who is 2 years old, has LCA. He is completely blind, and there is no cure. We are raising money for research and treatment for Gavin, and others who live with LCA. There are only about 3,000 LCA cases in the United States.

The Gavin R Stevens Foundation was started in honor, and for him. We hope to help everyone affected with LCA, somehow!

The Els for Autism Golf Challenge is the largest amateur, charity-driven, national tournament in U.S history. It comprises of 30 Super Regional events around the country from May through September with a Grand Finale in Las Vegas on October 23/24. One of those Super Regional events is being hosted at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club on September 19, 2011.

The Fairbanks Ranch Country Club event costs $500 to enter per two-person team ($250pp). This includes the golf, cart, lunch and tournament gifts. Participants will be competing for the chance to qualify for the Grand Finale which will be hosted by Ernie Els in Las Vegas on 23/24 October. Grand Finale prizes include luxury trips to South Africa, South America and England courtesy of Mantis and sets of Callaway golf clubs complete with bag and customized fitting.
There are three ways for a team competing in a Super Regional event to make it the final – be the low net winner, the highest fundraiser or raise $10,000 more and automatically qualify. Once teams sign up they are given a dedicated team webpage to personalize and send out to friends, co-workers etc…to ask them to sponsor their team. Essentially teams start competing the minute they sign up! Whilst fundraising is encouraged it is not a prerequisite of taking part. As a fun incentive, teams raising $2,500 or more will be automatically entered into the Fundraisers’ Prize Draw for a chance to win a 7-day ultimate IRISH LINKS golf tour to Ireland.

Proceeds from the Golf Challenge will go towards creating the Els Center of Excellence that will reach out to help children on the autism spectrum across the U.S and internationally.

Unidos Por Niños (UPN) is a non-profit charitable foundation established in 2004. Organized in the state of California, UPN hosts an annual golf tournament held in Southern California to raise funds in support of its cause. We are an organization of family, friends, parents, professionals and volunteers committed to reducing instances of child abuse and neglect; and to helping increase education and build awareness surrounding child abuse and neglect prevention.

Our mission is to provide financial support to child abuse and neglect prevention organizations. Since 2004, with the help of dedicated and generous supporters, UPN has raised over $300,000 exclusively for prevention programs to supplement the annual funding budget(s) necessary to maintain and operate these organizations, which are vital to the future health, safety, and well-being of our state’s children. With the help of private funding sources such as UPN, programs are able to provide children with necessities essential to their emotional, physical and educational recovery allowing them to achieve their full potential.

Additionally, UPN advocates for and supports increased funding to help provide parents, guardians, families, public officials, and communities with the education and resources necessary to prevent abuse and/or neglect before such instances occur.

This year we are hosting the 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament to help prevent child abuse and neglect at the beautiful Coyote Hills Golf Course located in Fullerton, CA. All proceeds are donated to prevention programs to aid in the fight to create change and reduce the instances of child abuse and neglect.

We hope that you will support our annual fundraising efforts in our fight to help prevent child abuse and neglect.

The current financial crises facing our schools have significantly impacted the funding of music and arts programs, causing them to be greatly reduced or eliminated. These important programs provide students who would not normally be exposed to the educational value that the arts have to offer with the opportunity to not only enrich their lives, but grow academically as well.

On November 11, 2010, the Beyond the Bell Branch of the Los Angeles Unified School District will be hosting its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser at the beautiful Angeles National Golf Club located in Sunland, California. Your support as a co-sponsor, donor or player can make a dramatic difference in the sustainability of music and arts programs and the lives of children in Los Angeles.

We are seeking gifts that can be used in our silent auction or as a raffle or grand prize. Beyond the Bell is a 501(c)(3) entity. The prize(s) that you donate will directly benefit the children of the Los Angeles Unified School District and the Beyond the Bell after school music and arts education programs.

This year, we are anticipating greater celebrity participation since Actress Anne-Maria Johnson (Actress- TV/Screen and 1 st Vice-President of Screen Actors Guild will be serving as our spokes person.

Tell us More: CBBBS services include one-to-one, school-based, and site-based mentoring programs that transform lives through rewarding and enriching relationships between trained mentors and youth of ALL beliefs and backgrounds. The nationally recognized Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Program pairs youth with adults who may also have hearing loss. The Richard A. Sewell Mentoring Center provides after-school homework assistance and mentoring to children from a mainly economically challenged Spanish speaking community. The High School BIGS Program matches trained high school students with elementary students. Mentoring Children of Promise is a program for children of prisoners, who are the invisible, unintented consequence of crime and the most marginalized segment of our society.
