Charity Golf Tournaments and Golf Tournament Planning

Over the past three years, Homeward Bound has taken in over 2,500 dogs. We are accepting an average of 18 dogs every week, and it is important that the Golf Fore Goldens Tournament is a success to continue to help these wonderful dogs that need a forever home. Our medical expenses still average $375,000 per year, restoring sight to the blind, helping the lame walk with new hips, removing tumors, curing heartworm, and caring for the aged dogs.

Founded in 2003, Community Health Network of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) is a public, charitable organization concerned with the health of Connecticut residents. Its mission is to advance, support and promote programs and activities that fundamentally improve the health status of the people of Connecticut. As such, the goal is to support the activities of community health centers, and other non-profit organizations that promote health care services to uninsured and medically underserved individuals, youth, children and families in Connecticut.

The Foundation is a volunteer-driven organization with an independent and non-funded board of directors who donate their time to the Foundation without compensation. The Foundation has been designated by the IRS as a 501(c) 3 entity, gifts to which are tax-exempt as charitable contributions.

The format is a four-person scramble and no handicaps required. On-course contests include longest drive (male & female), closest-to-the-pin (male & female) and Holes-in-One on every par 3 hole including a $10,000 cash prize. Registration includes green fees, cart, range balls, all you can eat breakfast and lunch, unlimited on-course alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, tournament gift & goodie bag, awards and on-course contests.

This event is organized by TOUCHING LIVES WORLDWIDE, INC for the sole purpose of raising funds for two new orphanages for homeless children in Haiti. Since the earthquake in January, Haiti’s situation is unbelievably worse than ever. There are thousands of small children deprived of food, shelter, affection, protection, and education. With the poverty and the results from the earthquake, the children are locked into a “silent prison” that has no walls but is without options and without hope. It doesn’t have to be that way for many if you extend a helping hand through your participation and/or support in this golfing event. You will be helping these children and helping yourself at the same time. its fifth annual golf classic August 23 at New England’s number one golf destination – Lake of Isles at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Community Health Network of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that supports and promotes programs and activities that fundamentally improve the health status of the people living in Connecticut. The Cornell Scott Memorial Golf Classic is the Foundation’s largest fundraising event.

Cornell Scott was a founder and board member of the Foundation. He dedicated his life to addressing the needs of community health while acting as a passionate advocate for the health care needs of the poor.

The annual golf classic has enabled the Foundation to award more than $123,000 to Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout the state. These funds have supported oral health education, medical records updates, employee training, over-the-phone interpretation for cultural competence and customer service.
