So why the National Kidney Foundation?

In 2002, my then 20-year-old brother, Justin, was diagnosed with kidney failure. For the following five years, Justin was in and out of doctors offices, traveling to different states, changing his diet, searching for anything that could save him. However, the inevitable seemed to be on the horizon – he would need a kidney transplant. Friends and family were all tested to see if they were a match in order to be a donor for Justin. We all crossed our fingers and one donor stood above the rest – our sister, Jenna, would be the one to to save Justin’s life and give him a second chance.

In 2006, Justin had a kidney transplant thanks to Jenna, his donor. It was a tough five years leading up to the surgery, and even tougher weeks of recovery to follow post-surgery. But here we are, celebrating the five year anniversary of Justin’s kidney transplant! Justin is strong, healthy and takes nothing for granted! So much of this journey was made possible due to the work done by the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). The NKF’s hard work, research and determination deserve credit for the reason I have my brother with me today! The Annual Gdovin Designs Charity Golf Outing is set up for one reason – to give back to the organization that gave Justin so much!

We’re trying to combine having a great time with helping a great cause. Lots of fun, great food, plenty of drinks and lots of prizes!

Welcome to the Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the boys and girls of Central Texas Children’s Home.  Thanks to your generous support of our last tournament you provided just over $6000 to meet the daily needs of our children!

This year’s tournament will be held at the beautiful and fun-to-play Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock, Texas.  Not only is this a great golf course, but we hope you will respond by playing and sponsoring this event so your kindness will give even more to our boys and girls this year!  We’re excited to announce that every player will be given a free round of golf at Teravista as one of the many “thank you’s” for playing in this year’s charity tournament.

In addition to the exciting contests and prizes we are preparing for you, we are excited to announce two new contests this year . . . a helicopter ball drop for prizes and a shoot-out . . . in addition to a Silent Auction at the Awards lunch after tournament play.  We are thrilled that Rudy’s BBQ is providing breakfast tacos during registration, the putting contest and your chance to warm-up with a free bucket of range balls.

Corporate and individual sponsorships are available by contacting our development office (512.243.1386 or carol@ctch.org).  Playing in our tournament or sponsoring this year’s event will allow children victimized by abuse, abandonment and neglect or suffering from an at-risk environment, a second chance to enjoy a normal life.  To learn more about Central Texas Children’s Home, please visit our website at www.ctch.org.
