| Greetings,Welcome to the Ducks Unlimited -
Brandywine Chapter’s 2nd annual Golf Classic and Auction at Bidermann. We are excited to continue this event as one of our fund-raising efforts and promise to deliver another memorable experience at one of the region’s most prestigious golf courses. Ducks Unlimited is the world leader in wetlands conservation having restored and conserved nearly 13 million acres of crucial habitat that benefits waterfowl, other wildlife and people. Through your generosity, the money raised at the golf classic will directly support wetland and marsh improvements in the important summer breeding lands to the North and the critical wintering grounds here in the Mid-Atlantic. Generous support for our local Ducks Unlimited chapters is the reason that Delaware continues to be one of the top ranked states in the country. In all, over 12,000 acres have been conserved within our State, ensuring healthy duck and wildlife populations for future generations. We hope that you’ll consider a sponsorship for what is certain to be the golf event of the season. By doing so, you’ll have the opportunity to both participate in a great event and support a great cause. Sincerely, Ducks Golf Classic Committee |

AKF USA, established in 1981, is a private, nondenominational, nonprofit international development organization committed to alleviating poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy, primarily in the developing world. The Foundation works to address the root causes of poverty by developing model programs and sharing innovative solutions in the areas of health, education, rural development, civil society and the environment. Presently engaged in over 100 major projects and programs in 18 countries, the Foundation’s programs are designed to lend a helping hand and not a hand-out, endorsed by the conviction that self-help brings dignity, self-respect and the realization of human potential. | The 18th Annual C. Michael Steadman Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the prestigious Lederach Golf Club in Harleysville, PA
Charles Michael Steadman Jr., a veteran of the armed forces of the United States of America, was killed in a car accident outside Fort Campbell, Kentucky on August 31, 1993. His wife was critically injured and is still recovering in the York, PA. area. His family and friends to keep his memory alive established the CMS Foundation weeks after his death. Supported by donations and an annual golf tournament, it finances four scholarships and supports the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The scholarships are established at Lock Haven University, Pennsylvania Army National Guard Unit; 228 ENG CO located in Spring City, PA, C.T.E. Allied Health Programs at Montgomery and Chester County and Phoenixville Area High School. The scholarships are given to students who demonstrate the traits and accomplishments similar to Michael. The Army National Guard scholarship is given to a student continuing their education while serving in the Armed Forces. The Lock Haven University scholarship is given to a graduating Lock Haven University student who demonstrates academic and service excellence and is entering Lock Haven’s Physician’s Assistant Program. The Phoenixville Area High School and C.T.E. Allied Health Program scholarships are given to a graduating senior who demonstrated academic, athletic and service excellence and who will attend a school of higher learning in a health related field. Michael was born in Statesville, North Carolina and grew up in Crofton, Maryland then Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He attended Phoenixville Area High School and was a standout place-kicker on the football team. He was very active in community service work and was a friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club and was involved in their many community service projects. Michael volunteered as a trainer for his high school football teams and instructed the specialty teams. Michael was of good Christian faith, kind, good-hearted, generous, had a great sense of humor, and always willing to help others. Michael cared about people and he loved his Country. Michael served six years at the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Unit, HEADQUARTERS Charlie Battery 1st Battalion, 213th Air Defense Artillery located in Spring City, PA before enlisting into the United States Army at Ft. Campbell, K.Y. Michael graduated from Lock Haven University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Allied Health Science. He was a certified personal trainer and an emergency medical technician. He was extremely active in Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and spent many hours helping others through their community service work. He and his wife Stephanie were married on June 21, 1993, four days after Michael’s 29th birthday. Michael was stationed as part of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky with the Medic Platoon, Headquarters Co., 3rd Battalion, and 502nd Infantry Regiment. He was a platoon leader and assigned to the Scout Platoon (better known as the Recon Unit) because of his extraordinary physical ability and knowledge of the human body. He was an excellent soldier and cared about his fellow men. He was scheduled to start Ranger School in October when this tragic event occurred. Michael was a graduate on the Air Assault School, was stationed in Fort Benning, GA, A.I.T., and graduated then served at the Combat Medic School in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He earned the National Defense Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Air Assault Badge. He was an expert in Rifle, Pistol, and Grenade.
