On Friday, June 8, 2012, we will be hosting our 5th Annual Golf “Fore” Recovery at the Arroyo Course in Red Rock Country Club in Las Vegas.

All funds raised will stay in Southern Nevada, benefiting our efforts in support of the Foundation’s mission.

The disease of addiction affects more than twenty-three million Americans every year, with less than 10% receiving the help they need. Our programs, services, and trainings offer valuable prevention education for parents, open pathways for recovery, and promote recovery’s positive impact.

Tournament tickets include your round of golf, golf cart, range balls and special awards luncheon at the gorgeous Red Rock Country Club.

James Mark’s mission is to show the world the positive side of Hip Hop through philanthropic efforts.

On June 3 enjoy a private event open only to our VIP Guests, Sponsors and Celebrities. Enjoy an intimate evening of food, drink and conversation. The star-studded Legends pairing party begins Friday, June 4, 2010, where the golf teams will receive their weekend tee times. Two days of golf will take place at the beautiful LakeRidge Golf Course in Reno on Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6. Golfers who participate will be paired with a celebrity and invited to the star-studded pairings party on Friday, June 4 at the EDGE Nightclub, at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. The course is only open to participating golfers, sponsors and invited guests. Course is otherwise closed to the general public.

On Saturday, June 5, try to bluff some of the greatest sports and poker legends during the Legends of the Game Celebrity Poker Tournament at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. A celebrity will be seated at each poker table at the start of the tournament. Poker players who knock out a sports legend will go home with an autographed shirt right off the legend’s back. Proceeds from the weekend’s events will be donated to Reno Philanthropist Evelyn Mount’s Community Outreach Program. Evelyn Mount has been feeding the area’s hungry from her home for more than 40 years. Other charities receiving donations include the Northern Nevada Food Bank, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Northern Nevada. “This is an exciting event that brings together some of the greatest legendary players in football, baseball, basketball, and boxing, as well as stars from the screen, to help those in need,” said Scott Hampton, CEO of Legends of the Game Celebrity Tour.

We are looking for players and/or a team of four. Individuals play the Bear’s Best course for $300 or it is $1000 for a foursome. Players will be treated to a continental breakfast, lunch, golf shirt, and goodie bag. The tournament is a scramble and we will be selling mulligans.

100% of net revenue will be used to directly benefit students in the classrooms at Lamb of God Lutheran School, a non-profit organization.

Founded in 2000, DonorsChoose.org is a nonprofit website where public school teachers post needs for funding for specific educational projects for their students, and donors can choose the projects they want to support.

To date, 123,000 public and charter school teachers have used the site to secure funding for $49.5 million in books, art supplies, technology, and other resources that their students need to learn. Through www.DonorsChoose.org, individuals from all walks of life have helped 3.1 million students, the majority from low-income areas. The average teacher spends $2,000-$3,000 of his/her own money for classroom needs.

Currently in Nevada there are 305 projects that still need to be funded. To date, Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort has given resources to 12,460 students (roughly $4,000) through contributions on the site.

Loews Lake Las Vegas Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament raised over $21,000 for a non-profit dedicated to Modest Needs.

As the first hotel partner for DonorsChoose.org, the goal for Loews is to raise awareness of the charity by raising money within the communities in which we do business. Loews has partnered with Donors Choose in order to better serve the educational needs of Nevada students.

The event kicks off at 12pm with an 18-hole, 4-person scramble golf tournament, followed by an awards barbeque and silent auction. Entry into the tournament is $150 per golfer or $650 per foursome, and is limited to the first 144 entrants. Each entry includes green and cart fees, lunch, dinner and gifts provided by Titleist as well as vacation giveaways from other Loews Hotel properties. Major sponsors include Touchstone, ValleyCrest, and SteriTech. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are also available ranging from hole sponsors and auction donors to the title sponsor.
