| For sixteen years we have been humbled by the kindness and generosity of individuals and businesses alike, who understand the importance of supporting the “The John L. McGuirk Memorial Golf Tournament”. Over $120,000 has been raised to benefit medical research and treatment of high-risk pregnancies at Massachusetts General Hospital Vincent Service and the North Shore Cancer Center’s Wellness Fund, which helps to counsel and support children of families who are coping with the ravages of cancer.
Each year is more difficult than the past year(s) to garner support. With the tough economic times, everyone’s dollar is stretched. However, please remember that there are no economic boundaries for Cancer or High-Risk Pregnancies. They can strike anyone at any time, without warning. We know first hand, we lost someone very special to all of us 8 years, Coach John L. McGuirk. He was a husband, father, coach and friend to everyone. And a family member lost two babies at birth 15 years ago. Both are insidious diseases that taxes families in countless ways; physically, financially, emotionally. There is no more hopeless feeling than watching someone that you love struggle with this singularly devastating illness. This is why once a year we gather in solidarity to help others, while spending an enjoyable afternoon on the links. So you may ask, “What can I do?” There are many ways to contribute to this endeavor. We offer Sponsorship Packages ranging from $75.00 to purchase an ad in our program book to $3500.00 to sponsoring the dinner. With your sponsorship, you company’s name will be displayed throughout our tournament. If you are not a golfer, or are unable to join us, but would still like to partake in this worthy cause, we gratefully accept with pleasure any and all donations. |
