Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT) is a school based after school program established in 2004 in Arlington, Virginia. It was disigned to meet the students’ need to have a program that spoke to their particular concerns of young Latinas who are possibly the first in their families to attend college and may not have the support and knowledge of how to get there and graduate.

Since 2004 the program has expanded to include all of Arlington’s comprehensive high schools as well as most middle schools in the county. In 2010 LLT expanded to include two chapters in Fairfax County and three chapters in Manor, Texas.

LLT now serves over 300 students per year. Program alumni currently attend a variety of universities, including James Madison, George Mason, Mary Washington, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Marymount, Carnegie Mellon and Richmond University. These students return during their breaks to share their experiences with current LLT students. LLT is proud to have one of the founding high school students on its advisory board and assist in the coordination of LLT’s annual Latina power conference.

The children’s mental health crisis is a national problem that has drawn the attention of parents, clinical professionals, school districts and public officials in every state. Children’s Mental Health Network is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 2010. It is the purpose of CMHN to provide funding for community services for families of children with serious emotion disorders referred by Mental Health Professionals. It also funds educational programs in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to schools, daycare facilities and law enforcement agencies. This training will give this network of professionals the confidence and skills needed to effectively and productively work with a child who struggles with the challenges associated with an emotional disorder. CMHN is also working to create a model for a “Community Crisis Team” to work in conjunction with local police in responding to a child in crisis. For more information on CMHN, and learn was services our funding provides to families and children. Please visit our website atwww.cmhn-nh.com.

Please help to make this event a memorable and successful one. Hopefully, together with your support, we can make this an annual event that will bring the community together as well raise funds for this important organization every year. Your contribution/particapation means a lot.

During the tourney we will have lots of contests to enter including a 5 card poker run. We will also have a catered lunch for family/friends to join after featuring a guest speaker of a child who was treated at St Jude Children’s Hospital and awesome raffle prizes!

In these difficult economic times, our mission to serve the community is more important now than ever before. Theta Phi Alpha and Premier Sponsor have partnered together to host the 1st Annual Tee Off with Theta Phi Charity Golf Tournament and Luncheon, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Seeing a dire need to create an institution to help cure children with cancer and other terminal illnesses, the late entertainer, Danny Thomas, founded St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since opening its doors in 1962, St. Jude has become known as one of the most trustworthy charities and one of the most formidable children’s research hospitals in the world.

Following Danny Thomas’ dream that ‘no child should die in the dawn of life,’ St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center that does not deny treatment due to a family’s inability to pay. No child is ever turned away because of financial reasons or lack of insurance. On average, over 5000 children visit the hospital each year and upwards of 200 children receive treatment every day.

Although 81 cents of every dollar goes directly to research, St. Jude still needs help. Theta Phi Alpha is committed to helping and we are asking for your support too. We are actively looking for sponsorships and donations to make our charity golf tournament a huge success for the children of St. Jude. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sarah Friedman, Tournament Coordinator, at 561 459 0943 or via email at TPAPhilanthropy@gmail.com. This year the Valley of the Sun Alumni Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity is hosting its Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Wildfire Golf Club located at the award winning JW Marriott Desert Ridge. This event will build from our inaugural event last year that raised nearly $8,000 for charity.

We anticipate that this years event will sell out and we are looking for sponsors to partner with us and help us reach our goal of raising $15,000.

Our primary charity again is St. Vincent de Paul, an organization that provides assistance to the poor, the hungry, the homeless and those less fortunate in our society.

Thank you for your time and consideration in supporting this event. We look forward to forming a great partnership with you for this year and many more to come.

August 22, 2011 – Chandler, AZ – GOLF FOR FOSTER KIDS – BEAR CREEK GOLF COMPLEX IS HOSTING A CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT BENEFITING “ARIZONA FRIENDS OF FOSTER CHILDREN FOUNDATION”

2-Person scramble event with raffles, prizes and Italian dinner Saturday September 24, 2011 beginning at 1 p.m.

Bear Creek Golf Complex will be hosting a charity golf tournament September 24th, on both the Bear (championship) and the Cub (executive) courses benefitting Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation. Bear Creek also asks golfers to bring in a blanket, coat, or other clothing item that will be donated to the Salvation Army in Chandler.

Currently there are over 10,000 children in Arizona’s foster care system, most as a result of abusive or neglectful situations. AFFCF is a (501) © (3) organization, and 100% privately funded. The foundation helps provide the little “extras”, such as music or karate lessons that help foster kids get through this difficult time in their lives. Together, we can help make a child’s life a little better.

The format is a 2-person scramble, each player tees off and then chooses the best ball and plays their ball from there until the ball is holed. We will have various raffles and prizes including “Golf Fore a Year” (golf twice a month for one year), restaurant and other gift certificates. Hole sponsorships are also available, contact the club for details.

The cost is $65/pp on the Bear, $50/pp on the Cub and includes an Italian dinner buffet and live music after. Tournament check-in begins at noon with a shotgun start on the Bear at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the Cub. Bear Creek is located at 500 E. Riggs Rd. Chandler, AZ 85249 – ¼ mile east of Arizona Ave.

Online registration at www.BearCreekAZ.com is now available. For questions, contact Linda Hollenbeck at 480-883-8200 or (602) 757-1494.

Hello Everyone, I am the Founder of PINK4CHEE – PINK4CHEE was formed originally to raise funds solely for Triple-Negative Breast Cancer research. However, the need to provide an accessible funding resource for single mothers battling breast cancer became apparent after hearing heart-breaking stories of their financial struggles. Today, P4C focuses on support services that will alleviate the stress and hardships associated with managing a single parent household while undergoing cancer treatments.

On Oct 1st P4C will host our first Cancer Survivors Golf Tournament, this event is not only for breast cancer, but for everyone that has been impacted by cancer; breast, prostate, cervical, uterine, lung, colon, etc.

We invite you to join us for this event. We are anticipating a highly successful and well-attended outing. Show PINK4CHEE friends, neighbors and colleagues your commitment to providing support.

Did you know young Latinas have incredible odds to beat to graduate from high school or college?

Latinas are the fastest growing group of female school aged youth

Many of our young Latinas lack education and career role models among their family and peers to help them set goals

Latinas have the highest female high school dropout rate (42%)

Latinas have the highest teen pregnancy rates of any racial or ethnic group

Young Latinas hold the highest rates of attempted suicide

The devastating results of these statistics are too much to ignore. Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT), a school based mentoring and leadership program which aims to inspire young women into leadership roles and eradicate achievement gaps, was created to change these statistics.

Our program uses leadership training, mentoring, career presentations and cultural identity activities to excite young women into success driven mindsets. They are encouraged to reach their goals and to believe in their strengths as Latinas. LLT serves 14 schools in Virginia and three in our state of Texas. LLT’s target populations are Latina students in middle and high school who are the first in their families planning to attend college in the U.S.

On March 12, 2011, LLT will hold its “Swinging for Education” Golf Tournament at Spicewood Course at Balcones Country Club. The “Swinging for Education” Golf Tournament will benefit our educational, leadership and community service programs.

We are asking for donations for our goody bags, door prizes for our raffle, longest drive and closest to the pin contest. You may also be an Albatross Sponsor for $2,000, Eagle Sponsor for $1,500, Birdie Sponsor for $750 and a Tee Box Sponsor for $75. Your donation is tax deductible (74-6003097). Anything you or your company can contribute would be greatly appreciated. We anticipate approximately 80 participants. The golf tournament is open to all golfers.

The Latinas Leading Tomorrow at Manor ISD currently has 45 members, sustains a club GPA above a 3.4 and has completed over 400 volunteer hours collectively this school year so far. This is what we strive for … will you or your company help us? Your investment in our students’ futures will yield priceless returns!

The Don & Jane Klein Memorial Golf Tournament is a celebration of lives and legacies. Simply put – we are fighting to Defeat Parkinson’s disease and provide support to patients and caregivers.

We are partnering with The Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland. Money raised for the fund will provide education, service and latest research information to Parkinson’s patients and their caregivers. The Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland is a voluntary health service organization active throughout Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. The Foundation is a tax-exempt chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation. Their goal is to provide support to people with Parkinson’s and their families and to inform the community about PD.

We expect support for the cause to be phenomenal this year because we are remembering Don Klein, who was afflicted with Parkinson’s disease and Jane Klein, who was his caregiver and who gave over 20 years of service to the city of Lenexa. “Jane’s passion for this city and our citizens was extraordinary; she always had the community’s interests at heart in all that she did,” said, Mayor Mike Boehm. The Klein’s were Lenexa residents for more than 40 years, and Jane devoted over 20 years to public service in her role as a Lenexa City Councilmember. If there was a City sponsored event you could count on the Klein family being involved. Their lives and their character touched all that knew them.

Please become a sponsor of the 2011 Don & Jane Klein Memorial Golf Tournament, or give to the Don & Jane Klein Bequest Fund. Join other companies that have committed to supporting the Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland. Sponsorships are available in a wide range of participation levels. Contributions to Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland are fully tax-deductible.

Your sponsorship will make a difference in the lives of those diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and their families. Please make checks payable to: “Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland,” and mail to:

The annual Youth Benefit Golf Tournament (YBGT) exists to provide funding for student scholarships and various youth oriented programs for all who live within the Santiam canyon area school district. This is our 11th year in which we have awarded over 88 mini grants totaling $48,960 to organizations providing programs for the youth of the Canyon. These programs have ranged from the Mill City Oregon Library summer youth reading program to Sports programs from Sublimity, OR to Gates, OR. Many of these programs have stated that they would have difficulty carrying out their programs without the assistance we provide. In total we distributed over a period of nine (10) years $72.510.

Scholarship applications are open from November 2010 thru mid March 2011 for our 11th year. Youth programs wishing to be considered for funding assistance from the Youth Benefit Golf Tournament should submit their request outlining how the program benefits youth and the number of youth involved not later than mid March 2011 to be considered.

The 18th Annual C. Michael Steadman Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the prestigious Lederach Golf Club in Harleysville, PA

Charles Michael Steadman Jr., a veteran of the armed forces of the United States of America, was killed in a car accident outside Fort Campbell, Kentucky on August 31, 1993. His wife was critically injured and is still recovering in the York, PA. area. His family and friends to keep his memory alive established the CMS Foundation weeks after his death. Supported by donations and an annual golf tournament, it finances four scholarships and supports the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The scholarships are established at Lock Haven University, Pennsylvania Army National Guard Unit; 228 ENG CO located in Spring City, PA, C.T.E. Allied Health Programs at Montgomery and Chester County and Phoenixville Area High School. The scholarships are given to students who demonstrate the traits and accomplishments similar to Michael. The Army National Guard scholarship is given to a student continuing their education while serving in the Armed Forces. The Lock Haven University scholarship is given to a graduating Lock Haven University student who demonstrates academic and service excellence and is entering Lock Haven’s Physician’s Assistant Program. The Phoenixville Area High School and C.T.E. Allied Health Program scholarships are given to a graduating senior who demonstrated academic, athletic and service excellence and who will attend a school of higher learning in a health related field.

Michael was born in Statesville, North Carolina and grew up in Crofton, Maryland then Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He attended Phoenixville Area High School and was a standout place-kicker on the football team. He was very active in community service work and was a friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club and was involved in their many community service projects. Michael volunteered as a trainer for his high school football teams and instructed the specialty teams. Michael was of good Christian faith, kind, good-hearted, generous, had a great sense of humor, and always willing to help others. Michael cared about people and he loved his Country. Michael served six years at the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Unit, HEADQUARTERS Charlie Battery 1st Battalion, 213th Air Defense Artillery located in Spring City, PA before enlisting into the United States Army at Ft. Campbell, K.Y.

Michael graduated from Lock Haven University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Allied Health Science. He was a certified personal trainer and an emergency medical technician. He was extremely active in Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and spent many hours helping others through their community service work. He and his wife Stephanie were married on June 21, 1993, four days after Michael’s 29th birthday.

Michael was stationed as part of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky with the Medic Platoon, Headquarters Co., 3rd Battalion, and 502nd Infantry Regiment. He was a platoon leader and assigned to the Scout Platoon (better known as the Recon Unit) because of his extraordinary physical ability and knowledge of the human body. He was an excellent soldier and cared about his fellow men. He was scheduled to start Ranger School in October when this tragic event occurred. Michael was a graduate on the Air Assault School, was stationed in Fort Benning, GA, A.I.T., and graduated then served at the Combat Medic School in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. I would like to extend an invitation for you to join Meals on Wheels Spokane to improve the quality of lives in our community. Meals on Wheels Spokane, personally interacts with, and feeds over 250 seniors daily. This essential service is often the only time a senior interacts with another person all day. Ensuring that our seniors are safe is paramount to our program and this contact allows us to check in with fragile seniors on a daily basis.

On July 30, 2011, we will be hosting the 9th annual “Cotton Classic Golf Tournament and Auction” at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course. I am asking you to also take a stand to fight senior hunger and isolation by becoming an underwriter for this event, sponsoring a team, or contributing auction items for this event. For your efforts you will be featured in the event program, have the opportunity to supply business cards next to your donation, flyers in golfers promotional bags, be on our website, endorsed in social media venues, and promoted during selected television appearances / radio announcements.

Your effort will be helping hundreds of frail elderly throughout the community. Together, we can change lives for the better. Together, we can continue to make a difference—to be there for the senior who is alone and hungry.

To become part of this wonderful event email Tricia at Meals on Wheels Spokane at, development@mowspokane.org, or call 509-458-0151. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

I am the Children’s Miracle Network chairperson for Walmart 1794, located in Bloomsburg, PA. Throughout the year we put on several events to raise money for such an important cause. The Janet Weis Children’s hospital is located in our area. The are funded by CMN and help thousands of children every year with life threatening conditions. Many of our fellow associates have been helped by the hospital. With a cause so close to our hearts we make every effort to raise as much money as we can. Last July we put on our first golf tournament. We arranged it in 6 weeks, and boy was that a learning experience! This year we are allowing much more planning time. We are seeking hole sponsors, donations of merchadise, gift cards, autographed photos, etc. We know the better the prizes the more money we can raise. Any help at all is greatly appreciated. I thank you so much for your time in considering our cause! Have a great day!

Did you know young Latinas have incredible odds to beat to graduate from high school or college?

  • Latinas are the fastest growing group of female school aged youth
  • Many of our young Latinas lack education and career role models among their family and peers to help them set goals
  • Latinas have the highest female high school dropout rate (42%)
  • Latinas have the highest teen pregnancy rates of any racial or ethnic group
  • Young Latinas hold the highest rates of attempted suicide

I am writing to you today in regards to my son Nathan and for many other children too. Nathan was 2 weeks shy of his 3rd birthday when he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He will be insulin dependant for the rest of his life. Nathan who is now 4 ½ years old has endured over 8.500 finger pricks, 1000 insulin shots, and a site change every 3 days. In addition to his numerous finger pricking and insulin injections, everything he eats or drinks needs to be weighed and measured, and blood sugars need to be checked while sleeps, plays, attends school and so forth. Nathan is a trooper and rarely complains. He is full of smiles, active, smart and most of all full of life, amidst his daily diabetes routine. He just started Pre-K and amazes us everyday on how much he has learned about his disease and how to educate others.

There are so many devastating diseases in our world right now, and that saddens us. The difference with Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes is that wiping it out of existences is extremely attainable and yet reachable. I hope one day I will be able to tell him to put down the glucose machine, its no longer needed. We believe that by time he reaches High School with the help of others our hope will come to reality.

The Rockin’ Peeps are your average diabetes families. Formed from a community of children who have been living with diabetes. We know that insulin is not our cure and only life support, so on November 13, 2010, The Rockin’ Peeps are hosting a “Tee off “fore” a CURE” day at Canongate Summergrove Golf Course. All proceeds will benefit the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). You and others can help too with donations big and small. We are asking for sponsors, players, or just simple donations. With a positive outcome we can all make a difference. As parents, its our instinct from the moment our children are born to protect them from any harm. My only way now is to help find a cure.

Please help us, help all the kids and adults living with Type 1 Diabetes. Together we can make a difference.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the 2010 Greater PEATC Open. Located at Mattaponi Springs Golf Club, the new upscale public course was ranked by Golf Digest as number one in Virginia and second in the nation among new courses!

As Virginia’s Parent Training and Information Center since 1978, the Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC) has seen the powerful results when families and professionals work in partnership to build better futures for children with disabilities. Over the years, many hopes and dreams for children with disabilities have turned distant possibilities into meaningful realities. PEATC does everything within our power to serve Virginia families and at absolutely NO COST to them. How do we do this? The caring commitment of knowledgeable staff, volunteers, grants, and donations from people like you.

You and your organization have a unique opportunity to help us help families, while enjoying play at Virginia’s very best public golf course: Mattaponi Golf Club.

Mattaponi’s layout features a masterful blend of dramatic multi-tiered fairways and challenging risk-reward holes. Signature holes abound, including the split fairway par 4-11th. A tee shot to the left fairway provides a gracious landing area, but a difficult approach to the left-angled green. A drive to the right, while risky, shortens the approach by 20 yards, and provides a welcoming angle onto the green.

Golf and individuals with disabilities quite often get asked the same question, especially if someone doesn’t know, “What’s your handicap?” Quite ironic, isn’t it? And the very reason we are requesting your support in our tournament. Our grant funding is always tenuous. We need your help to ensure that we are able to continue to serve Virginia’s families to the best of our ability.

We have a sponsorship package to fit just about any budget. Remember, because PEATC is a 501(c)(3) charity, your sponsorship is tax deductible! Please come and join us for a wonderful day of golf, while supporting a great community event and great prizes on the 2nd of October, along with the beauty of the changing of the leaves and crisp fall air on Virginia’s #1 public golf course and #2 in the Nation, Mattaponi Springs!

Sincerely,

Suzanne Hill

After School Programs Inc. is hosting its first ever “Swing for Scholarships” golf tournament at Woodmont Country Club in Tamarac, Fl starting at 1:00 p.m. In these critical economic times and with the influx of refugees from the recent earthquake disaster in Haiti, the need for affordable childcare has risen dramatically. A.S.P. is a 501(C)(3) not for profit organization, located in Broward County, that has always offered company scholarships. We have also applied for various grants to offset the cost of after school childcare. However, the demand far exceeds the resources available.

As a result, A.S.P. is hosting this golf tournament as a fun way to replenish the scholarship funds needed to better meet the childcare needs of families in financial crisis.

The Volusia/Flagler UCF Alumni Chapter is excited to host its annual scholarship fundraiser on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Timacuan Golf & Country Club. In honor of my late husband, the golf scramble has been renamed the Lee A. Dumas Memorial Scholarship Golf Scramble. This event embodies his passion for golf and education. It was his mission to provide college scholarships for students in Volusia and Flagler counties to attend UCF Daytona Beach.

Your participation in this event as a golfer, sponsor or door prize donor will help the chapter make my husband’s dream a living legacy. The enclosed flyer is your opportunity to be a part of this worthwhile cause. If you are unable to participate in the scramble, please consider a monetary donation. Your gift will help students in our community realize their own dream of a UCF education. Donations to the Lee A. Dumas Memorial Scholarship Endowment can be mailed directly to the UCF Alumni Association.

The Volusia/Flagler UCF Alumni Chapter anticipates awarding scholarships in Lee’s name this fall.

Thank you for your support. I hope to see you at Timacuan on April 24, 2010!

It is with great pleasure that we annouce the 2010 Greater PEATC Open. Located at Mattaponi Springs Golf Club, the new upscale public course was ranked by Golf Digest as number one in Virginia and second in the nation among new courses!

As Virgina’s Parent Training and Information Center since 1978, the Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC) has seen the powerful results when families and professionals work in partnership to build better futures for children with disabilities. Over the years, many hopes and dreams for children with disabilities have turned distant possibilities into meaningful realities. PEATC has learned from these successes, having worked at the local community and state-levels promoting opportunities for inclusion and curriculum adaptations, culturally competent and family centered services, literacy, seamless transitions and self determination. PEATC partners with numerous state and local community and faith-based organizations, schools, businesses, colleges and universities, and advocacy organizations reaching and supporting families and professionals across the Commonwealth. National dissemination centers, university programs, nationally- recognized experts, are all numbered PEATC collaborators as we ensure families and professionals are receiving and connecting with evidence- based practices that lead to success for students with disabilities.

PEATC does everything within its power to give the very best it has to offer to Virginia’s families and at absolutely NO COST to them. How do we do this? Via grants and donations and always with our fingers crossed while saying a prayer. This is where we need your help as a non-profit 501(c )(3).

Because we only give the very best services to the Commonwealth citizens of Virginia, we wanted you to be able to play at Virginia’s very best public golf course Mattaponi Golf Club.

Mattaponi’s layout features a masterful blend of dramatic muti-tiered fairways and challenging risk-reward holes.

Many of the grants are being taken away and the last thing we want to do is limit our services to Virginia’s families.

We have a sponsorship package to fit just about any budget and remember, because PEATC is a 501(c)(3) charity, your sponsorship is tax deductible!
