We are excited to announce the 7th Annual Meijer Charity Classic. We hope you will be able to join us August 31, 2010 at the beautiful Highlands Golf Club for a fun filled day of golf on this classic Donald Ross course, to raise funds for Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids.

Gilda’s Club is a national organization started in honor of the late Gilda Radner from Saturday Night Live, by her husband Gene Wilder, cancer therapist Joanne Bull and Joel Siegel. It was Gilda’s wish that anyone dealing with cancer would be able to receive the kind of support she found during her treatment. Today, there are over thirty Gilda’s Clubs and fifty thousand members nationwide that offer free supoort for men, women and children living with any kind of cancer, along with their families and friends.

The 2010 Meijer Charity Classic Pro-Am will feature 21 professionals from the LPGA and Futures Tours. This event has been supported by past participants such as Nancy Lopez, Beth Daniel, Angela Sanford, Katherine Hull, Christina Kim and a local hero, Allison Fouch, to mention a few.

Our goal is simple….to raise money for Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids through the Meijer Charity Classic Pro-Am, and ultimately, to raise money for all the local cancer related charities through an LPGA Tour stop at the Highlands Golf Club of Grand Rapids.

Group for the East End is honored to hold its first golf fundraising event at Sebonack Golf Club on October 19, 2010. Situated on 300 picturesque acres on Peconic Bay in Southampton, Sebonack is one of just a few world class golf courses built and maintained with environmentally sustainable practices. Sebonack appears to have fashioned itself from the wild terrain. In fact, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak designed the course to look as though it were manicured by time.

Join us for an exceptional day. We will begin with breakfast at 8:30 a.m., shotgun start at 9:30 a.m., 18 holes of golf, barbecue lunch, and awards on the club house veranda.

Our tournament is limited to 72 players, so please reserve your tickets today.

For more information on Sebonack Golf Club, please visit www.sebonack.com.

Since 1972, Group for the East End has protected and restored the environment of eastern Long Island through education, citizen action and professional advocacy. Acting as an environmental watchdog for the region, the Group inspires people to embrace a conservation ethic.
